Michael Melpass sculpture restoration

Michael Melpass Sculpture Restoration This was a real neat project for Atlantic Green Pro's, we were called in by the Linda Melpass to assist in the restoration of Michael Melpass's sculptures which were damaged by during storage over the last 30 tears or so in a warehouse with a leaking roof. The sculptures were manufactured out of different types of metals and each one had to be handled carefully. The end result was nothing but amazing and we were proud to assist in this project.

Before restoration: Many of the sculptures looked like this one with more than 30 years of corrosion on them, this one had a slight noticeable pattern on it, which you'll see in the next photo what it revealed.

During restoration: The artist had created a bronze inlay into the steel that was beyond belief.. it was as though we were participating in art archeology.
During restoration: This was another sculpture that had multiple layer that had to be restored, our wet abrasive process that utilizes recycled glass was just the perfect solution to a very complex problem.

Close to completion : These were the pieces as we left them, from here they were off to a coatings specialist and from there on to display where they rightfully belong... it was an privilege to work on this project.

Stainless steel tank restoration
Before Atlantic Green Pro's was brought in to remove old coatings from the exterior of these tanks so that new coatings could be applied. The big problem was the tanks were in an office / industrial complex and dry blasting would have made to much dust... so our wet abrasive blasting process was called to duty.

After As you can see the wet abrasive process kept dust down to a minimum and the adjacent area very clean. Best of all the neighbors didn't even know we were blasting.

Before Here you can see an area where we test blasted to get a better idea of how long it would take to remove this tar like coating.
After Atlantic Green Pro's wet abrasive blasting process which uses green media (recycled glass) along with warm water and compressed air. Our process produces no dust in the air like dry blasting, Sand Blasting and Soda blasting. which makes it much safer for the environment.

Lawrence School Radiator Restoration
62 radiators to in trailerv ready to be restored.
Atlantic Green Pro's was brought in to blast away years of paint from 62 large radiators that were part of a much larger restoration at the Lawrence School in Larenceville New Jersey.
62 radiators delivered in groups of 6 and 8.
Each radiator was aproximatly between 4 ' and 6' long and weighing in at between 400 lbs and 600 lbs each. The first order was to make sur the work site stayed need and clean so a containment tent was set-up for blasting.
Radiators moved in at 6 and 8 at a time.
the process was simple in the way we handle it, groups of six and eight were moved in and out of the blast containment tent at a time. Blasting was done inside the tent and at the end of the day the client would pick up one load of clean radiators.
Inside containment tent
the radiators were moved of the pallet and stacked in a 45º pile so it was just a work and tumble process blasting one side at a time and then tumbling them forward to be restacked on the pallet... pretty clean and simple.
This is the final product after we blasted them 62 radiators ready for paint.

Flemington NJ office conversion structual steel.
This is the exterior of an old Agway grain transfer station
Atlantic Green Pro's was brought in to blast structual steel that was part of the old building and was being left exposed in the new space... yes those are grain towers that are now being converted into offices.... Very cool space.

Inside the old Agway grain transfer station.
The client wants to keep the structural steel exposed and Atlantic Green Pro was tasked with removing old rust as well as cleaning up the steel so a new coating could be applied.
